THE VISION
NAFAD envisions that, through its mission, it will be instrumental in facilitating an environment in which creative persons of all racial and ethnic backgrounds can find lifelong fulfillment, dignity and financial stability in a career or entrepreneurial endeavor in fashion and related fields.
THE MISSION
NAFAD's mission is:
TO acquaint its members with the economic potential in the designing, manufacturing and retailing of fashion apparel and related products and services.
TO collect and disseminate information on trends and opportunities.
TO work in collaboration with Black universities and colleges to recruit and retain minorities in fashion and related programs.
TO make scholarships available to young adults seeking higher education in fields related to fashion design and merchandising.
TO provide opportunities for NAFAD members to enhance their professional development.
TO provide opportunities for and encourage networking among those who produce and those who market fashion products for the purpose of securing a wider distribution of fashion and related goods and services offered by minorities in the field.
TO increase consumer awareness of and appreciation for fashion apparel and related goods and services supplied by minorities.
